Childers-Woodgate Funeral Services has a flexible pricing structure, which allows families to choose from a range of services and options.

Our Funeral Directors will provide you with an itemised fee proposal, outlining all of the services and costs involved with the funeral that best reflects the life of your loved one and your family’s needs.

There are generally four main costs associated with a funeral:

Professional Service Fee

Our Professional Service Fee incorporates all of the tasks and services involved in arranging, planning and conducting the funeral, including:

  • Guidance, expertise and care from a team of experienced, professionally trained staff (available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year).
  • Provision of hearse and mourning car (if required).
  • Placement of death and funeral notices in the newspaper/s and on our website/Facebook.
  • Making arrangements with the cemetery/crematorium.
  • Liaising with clergy or a civil celebrant.
  • Liaising with the florist, caterer, musician and other service providers.
  • Provision of all necessary staff and hearse on the day of the funeral.
  • Photo presentations to be played at the service.
  • Lodgment of all paperwork with Births, Deaths and Marriages.

Coffin

The price of a coffin depends entirely on the construction/type, quality, finish and style that is chosen. Please ask our staff to view our range of coffins.

Cemetery Charges

These charges are set by the individual cemeteries and do not vary between funeral companies.

Cremation Fees

Childers-Woodgate Funeral Services do not have their own crematorium, therefore, have working relationships with a number of crematoriums who allow us to use their facilities for a fee. Please ask our funeral director for further information.

The information below is intended to provide you with an approximate price guide to a range of service combinations that are frequently chosen.

We currently offer four packages: Direct Cremation or Burial; Bronze Package; Silver Package; Gold Package. For details as to what is included in each package, please refer to the PDF. The costs included are those costs that are exclusively to us and therefore, under our control. There are of course, additional costs that may be incurred if clients choose those options. These costs are usually third-party costs, of which, are out of our control.

Our office premises is located at 86 Churchill Street, Childers, QLD, 4660. This facility is owned by Fred and Shirley Hampson who trade under their company name: Jenlesley Pty Ltd (trading as Childers Woodgate Funeral Services or Burnett Regional Funeral Services.) When a cremation service is requested, we work in conjunction with other facilities as required.

Transportation of your loved one for burial or cremation will be in a suitable vehicle owned by our company. Your loved one will be kept in our mortuary and will only be transported for the purposes of the funeral service as per the final agreement.

The professional care of the deceased;

The administration, preparation and conducting of a funeral, requiring a minimum staff involvement of 30 hours;

The provision and maintenance of a specialty vehicles i.e. hearse and mortuary transfer vehicle;

The provision and maintenance of appropriate premises and equipment;

Compliance with current workplace health and safety requirements;
An approportionate amount towards the ongoing training and development of our staff, electricity, rates and taxes, insurances, workers compensation, compulsory superannuation.

  • Transfer of your loved one into our care at any hour of any day (travel within 300 km) using our fully equipped transfer vehicle.
  • Transfer of your loved one from our facility to the location of the service using a well maintained hearse.
  • Transfer of your loved one from the place of service to the cemetery / crematorium using a well maintained hearse.
  • If the location of either place of service and/or burial/cremation is in excess of 300 km, additional mileage will be incurred.
  • If the transfer of your loved one into our care is further away than 300 km, the services of a funeral transfer company will be employed.

Non-attended service for the deceased at the place of cremation.

Transfer of the deceased from the place of death into our care;

Transfer of the deceased to place of cremation.

Professional care of the deceased;

Administration and registration of the death;

Provision and maintenance of a specialty vehicle i.e. mortuary transfer vehicle;

Management of the cremation process including containerisation of cremated remains for collection.

  • Non-attended service for the deceased.
  • Transfer of the deceased from the place of death into our care;
  • Transfer of the deceased to place of burial.
  • Professional care of the deceased;
  • Administration and registration of the death;
  • Provision and maintenance of a specialty vehicle, ie. Mortuary transfer vehicle;
  • Management of the burial process.
  1. Full payment must be cleared before any service can proceed.
  2. A deposit may be made at the arrangement meeting, or at an agreed upon time prior to the service. However, the balance must be cleared before the service proceeds.
  3. Accepted payment methods include:
    • Direct Deposit
    • Credit Card – a surcharge of 1.9% applies. Please inform our team in advance if this is your preferred method.
    • BPay
    • Cheque – made out to Jenlesley Pty Ltd
    • Cash
  4. Deferred payment may be considered when there is:
    • Probate pending
    • Pre-paid funeral bond or insurance claim confirmed and in progress
    • Genuine Hardship
  5. Deferred Payment Schedules can only be approved by the Director, and require a signed contract specifying:
    • A specific due date (maximum 90 days from the date of the funeral)
    • Deposit must be paid at the time of signing the Deferred Payment Schedule
    • Signed Personal Guarantee (individual with verifiable assets)
    • If any payment is not made by its due date, interest accrues on the outstanding balance at the rate of 12% per annum, calculated daily and compounding monthly, from the due date until the date of the actual payment in full
    • If any payment is not made by its due date, the entire outstanding balance (including all accrued interest) becomes immediately due and payable without further notice
  6. An estimated price provided during the Funeral Arrangement has been given in good faith but is not binding on Burnett Regional Funeral Services / Childers Woodgate Funeral Services. Our price will be the Total Price plus any additional charges accrued by Burnett Regional Funeral Services / Childers Woodgate Funeral Services in providing the service outlined in the Funeral Agreement.
